I wake up and find myself falling through the air. I don’t know what I’m falling from or why. I know I’m dreaming because I’ve had this dream many times before, dreaming of falling off a cliff, from the sky. I can feel the pain of falling when I hit bottom because I’ve hit bottom before and the pain is unbearable. I anticipate that pain and feel it as I fall. I wonder why this is happening to me again. I manage to look down searching for bottom when I see something forming below. I’m fascinated because it resembles a giant quilt of a net being assembled to catch my fall. I know it’s going to be a soft landing and the anticipated pain is gone.
I wake up.
